Yes, you are right. The people who bought our truck could not buy our LLC because we have another motorhome in the USA owned also by the LLC.
That meant the new owners had to create their own LLC and Montana requires that new plates be issued. This screwed up the plan to do the paperwork shuffle at a Chile/Arg co-located border, but they had the Poder I had drawn up in Chile and that got them through a couple of other borders before they finally got a chance to swap plates and papers.
We did our swap on the bridge at Iguazu as we were driving. I took the plates off and one was on the sun visor and the other hanging in the door window on the camper. I swapped one and copilot swapped the other.
