Argentina TIP now restricted to 3 months???? (Papierkram)

Hope not although I knew there was one border post that routinely refused to issue TIP for longer than three months - BUT a thread on HUBB - http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/south-america/storage-location-in-urugu... - claims that one rider at least has recently been refused an 8 month TIP at three different borders.

Anyone have any further information?

If that is the case then I guess I will have to look at storing the vehicle in Uruguay instead of Argentina but what I don't want is to come back into Argentian from Chile a couple of weeks before I fly out only to find I have to drive to Uruguay at the last minute.

However, I guess if there is even a 20% chance of there being a problem, I might be better just finding storage in Uruguay and be done with it.
