I am not missing the point. You did not make your point clear. If you do not care to use legitimate campgrounds, then you should have stated it clearly.

As for your comments about noisy Argentinos. Yes, between Dec 25 and Jan 31, it is very noisy in most campgrounds in Argentina. That is their summer holidays. Outside of those dates, most campgrounds in Argentina (expect for the most popular locations) are very quiet. I, for example, camped in even some of the most popular places in March completely alone. In Chile, yes the camping in the National Parks is a bit expensive, but they are also very nice places.

I also very much like using campgrounds because it is a great place to talk to local campers and find out about nice places to visit. Locals who camp are generally very informed about where the great hidden away places are. But if you don't interact with local people or cannot speak to them, then you will not learn about these things.
