OK Salzi, I think there is plenty of examples to show that there is no separate paperwork issued for a vehicle and the original poster can be assured that in common with the rest of South America, there are no huge fees involved in bringing a vehicle in.

Question then is whether the new procedures have any benefit for travellers entering Brasil with a vehicle. Certainly it may save a few minutes but what other advantages.

Some people have suggested that it means that we can bring a vehicle in and we can fly home and return months with a new tourist visa, pick up the vehicle and carry on with the trip. Would be nice if that was the case as it would give a more northerly alternative to Uruguay and Argentina, but so far nobody seems to have tested it.
