Mechanic near Puerto San Julian or further south (Technisches)

Travelscrabble @, Freitag, 29. Januar 2016, 14:05 (vor 3008 Tagen)

Hi all
we are currently heading down South (to Tierra del Fuego) with our Mitsubishi Delica and unfortunately will need to find a good (and cheap) mechanic soon. Oil has been leaking for the past days and so far we've been having some very differing opinions..
Can any of you recommend a good mechanic or friend somewhere south of Puerto San Julian towards Ushuaia? Our Spanish isn't the best, so maybe someone can help.
thanks!

Did you check if there are any recommendations on iOverlander?

Hmmm - Just one Bungler and this one in Ushuaia

Thanks, we did have a look on there but couldn't find much regarding mechanics.. As a general rule of thumb, is it better to get bigger repairs done in Chile or Argentina? Any thoughts or experiences?
Thanks for your help!

We were lucky in the south. In Peru I know the perfect place.

I guess if you can speak Spanish well it gives you a lot more sources of information than we have access to, but if you are concerned about the leak your options get less and less the further south you go. Rio Grande is reasonably big but nothing else until Ushuaia, but even Grande is a fair way from where you are now.

Might be worth posting on other forums in the hope you strike someone with a good recommendation. Perhaps http://panamericanaforum.org/ but you have to join first.
