Mercosur Insurance Kaput? (Sonstiges)
Hallo,
Fellow overlanders are having a hard time getting insurance for any of the Mercosur conuntries and are currently stuck at our base in Buenos Aires. It is a french vehicle. They were told by their usual contact in Europe and in the USA that since the first of January 2015 it was not possible to insure for Mercosur countries any longer from abroad. In other words, the only way to have insurance for a foreign vehicle is apparently getting it in each country. Not sure about other countries, but it is a challenge to get insured in Argentina. Can anyone provide useful information about this???? Thanks in advance.
Cristian

Thanks for all the answers (well, all but one...)! I am still not sure if it is possible to get a Mercosur insurance since January this year, but we will try all the contacts kindly offered to see if we can find out more information. Regards,
Cristian
My insurance policy was issued yesterday
Well,
At least the countries mentioned are included on my brand new insurance policy, issued by San Cristobal Argentina.
Best regards

Klaus in El Bolson is another possibility. His doesn't cover Peru though, but advantage is it can all be done by email.
