Planen gerade unsere 2 Tour nach Brasilien,diesmal der Norden mit Amazonien.
2012/13 konnten wir ohne große Probleme um 90 tage vor ort bei der Policia Federal verlängern.
Haben gehöhrt das sich da was geändert hat und das eine verlängerung nicht mehr
möglich ist
90 tage für diese Grande Tour sind viel zu wenig
Wer weis genaueres? oder sollten wir ein Visum beantragen. Mannikoe

As an Australian, I have to get a visa before entry, but still have the same problem - it is good for 90 days and I was told that the only way to extend it is to leave Brazil for a day, not all that convenient if you are in the middle.

Aktuell ist es wohl so:
max. 90 Tage in 180 Tagen.
Also wenn man 90 am Stück im Land ist muss man für 90 raus.
So wie es in Schengen auch ist.

You can extend the visa from 90 to 180 days by going to the Federal Policia. Any Federal Policia can extend the stay to 180 days for you. Very easy.

Good if that is the case. Just have to make sure whether it has to be done within a certain number of days of it expiring.

Just to confirm: it was the Federal Police officer at immigrations at a border post who told me that if i wanted to stay longer than 90 days, i just had to visit a federal police office and they would give it to me automatically. Of course you still cannot stay more than 180 days in one year.

Tony, the situation for us Australians is even worse, as at the borders we only get 45 days per entry. I've tried all sorts of persuasion, nothing worked. You can stay up to 90 days on the visa, that's correct, but only with multiple entries - this makes it almost impossible to visit the interior of Brazil with your own vehicle, since the vehicle has to leave the country too...
And the fees for this visa "service" are also outragous.

Yes, I had seen that was the case when I looked at S America a few years ago.
This time I need to get another vehicle out of Argentina and thought I might go up to the falls, have a look while getting the visa at the falls and then "escape" into Brazil and head around to Bolivia and up.
What about the supposed elimination of TIPs. Does that alter our situation?

Haben uns entschlossen ein Visum für den Aufenthalt zu beantragen.
Melden uns dann, wie es gelaufen ist.
