When leaving a vehicle in a camping or garage for long-term storage, what is the procedure for leaving the country by aeroplane WITHOUT THE VEHICLE?

Hi there,
Your passport has no indication or link to the fact that you entered Argentina with a vehicle. So there is no problem with exiting the country and leaving the camper stored. Technically, it is not allowed by customs, but it is done all the time without any consequences whatsoever. Our storage customers have been doing this for years and there has never been a problem. Cristian

Thanks Cristian
Here I have a slight variant to discuss...
I would like to sell the car to someone who would not pick it up for some months. That is to say, we could store the vehicle in your compound. I would leave the country and the new owner would pick it up a couple of months later.
then how would we deal with the 'temporary importation' documents?

Hi again,
The easiest way is for you to come back along with the new owner, take the camper out of Argentina, and switch driver and papers before entering an adjacent country. Of course, it is not so "easy" for you, since it requires you to come down here! As far as other alternatives, send me an e-mail if interested and we can explore any options.

Cristian
