Provided you have the current TVIP and it is still valid, AND a PODER from the current owner, then you will be able to get the vehicle out of Colombia at the southern border post on the Panam.

There is a fairly large carpark connected to the Colombia border post where we stayed overnight when we did a border run so it would be easy to park over to the side and put the new plates on and then drive down to the Ecuador border post and sign yourself in with your new papers.

If you have the current TVIP but no poder then I did notice that the Colombian Aduana official was pretty meticulous on the way north and took photos and recorded TVIP etc, but on the way south I knocked on her door and she took the TVIP and waved goodbye without seeing the vehicle or my passport. Your experience might vary.

With no TVIP then ?????
