Ausreise Chile nach Autoverkauf (Papierkram)

I think it is a fallacy about the vehicle having to be recorded in your passport, simply because a lot of the border posts are fully computerised and they would just make a note of your passport number when they process the import papers. When my TIPs have been processed they always ask for my passport as well.

As for your question, I understood that Chile and Bolivia were hard to get out of and leave a car behind while I know people who have left a vehicle in Peru and flown back home to a family emergency, and of course Argentina and Uruguay aren't usually a problem
