FOR SALE: VOLKSWAGEN KOMBI T2, 1975, GERMAN-Mexican MODEL, fully equipped

With pain in our hearts we’ll sell our TRAVEL COMPANION, MELQUIADES (One Hundred years of Solitude, Marquez).

Selling from April 1 2016 in Santiago Valparaiso region. (We will be working in these cities before we continue travelling by boat)

The car is registered in Mexico. Will be sold with a Power of Attorney (Poder de Notaria) and a compra-venta. Explanation of papers via personal message tim (dot) vanhooren (at) gmail (dot) com. If you want to get the car registered on your own name you shouldn’t be afraid of a nice trip to Mexico ;).
Car in good shape: Engine lowered and revised in Peru (15.000 km ago). Various other new parts.

Comes with two spare tires, bed, chairs, cool box, toolbox, a lot of spare parts, guidebook (in Spanish, a must!), kitchen equipment, jerry cans (60liters in total), gas, extra battery (not connected) AND 2 days of full explanation in French, English, Spanish or Dutch.

We travelled in Bolivia (until 4500m), Peru, Ecuador, Chili, Argentina for the last 9 months. (In April it will be 1 year) To get an idea of the trip: roamingthenewworld.wordpress.com (we are still 4 months behind ;) )

Vendimos nuestro compañero de viaje, Melquiades (Cien Años de Solidad, Marquez).
De 1 Avril 2016 cerca de Santiago o Valparaiso. (Nos quedamos ahí por el trabajo algunos meses)
El Kombi es registrado en Mexico. Lo vendimos con un Poder de Notaria y un compra-venta. Todo l’explicacion de los papeles en mesaje personal tim(punto)vanhooren(aroba)gmail(punto)com.
El caro esta en buen estado: bajamos el motor y lo revisamos en Peru (hace 15000km). Varios otros partes nuevos.
Lo vendimos con dos ruedas de seguro, cama, sillas, coolbox, muchos repuestos, herramientos, un guia en Español, herramientos de cocina, bidones (60 litros), gas, batteria de seguro Y DOS DIAS DE INFORMACION SOBRE EL AUTO.

My boyfriend and I are planning to start a 6 month trip in South America around the 10th of March in Santiago de Chile.
Your Van looks great and we are trying to find a van like yours in Santiago, but still not found. Then we'll reach Buenos aires and drive up to the North, maybe to Cuba if we have enough time.
Do you think your van is still able to do a trip of 6 month up to the north? Is there many repairs to do? And how much fuel does it consume per kilometer?

Ihre Van sieht gut aus , und wir versuchen, eine van wie das Ihre in Santiago zu finden , aber immer noch nicht gefunden. Dann werden wir in Buenos Aires erreichen und fahren in den Norden , vielleicht nach Kuba , wenn wir genug Zeit haben.
Glauben Sie, dass Ihre van ist immer noch in der Lage, eine Reise von 6 Monate bis in den Norden zu tun? Gibt es viele Reparaturen , zu tun? Und wie viel Kraftstoff bedeutet es verbrauchen pro Kilometer ?

Sorry for the late answer!

Yes our Combi can make that! The question is if you want to go so fast ;)
Our combi came from mexico and we are now in El Calafate without problems. And drove over 4500m in Bolivia!
It is an amazing friend to travel with!

The practical questions:
We will only reach Valparaiso at the end of March. So maybe to late...
Papers are something to arrange with Notaria. We did it already, if you are interested I'll send you the details.
The repairs: the van will drive, cause we tread it will! There are always some minor things to do, but at this moment noting motortechnical. On the way up I would advise you to pass our super mechanic in Lima. He will help you cheap and well for everything that is good for a longer life if you want that. Only thing we see in the necessary in the near future is 2 new tires and the 'rodamientes'

Please let us know! You seem the people most thinking like us who want to buy our friend!!

Thanks for your answer (never too late) ;)
I think that if you reach Valparaiso end of March we could do the paper for the RUT before (is it possible without the paper of the car?), are you sure to be there end of March? End of March is OK for us but later it will be too long to wait. Just a question, whats "rodamientes"?

We will be there at the end end of March indeed. To get the RUT you don't need the papers at all. This is like a social number in Chile.
For the car the papers are not the same as the ones for buying a Chilean car as you know. It envolves papers of a notary as you know.
This might take just some two days if it works out the way it is suposed. This is and stays S america. :)

Rodamientos are bearings in english, roulement in French and roulementen or kogellagers in Dutch. If you google these you'll find them!

Hi guys, me and my friend are planning for making the panamerica road trip, from mexico down to panama..and we need a kombi like u are offering..and we are very interested to buy it
is it still available ? and how would we go on ? we are planning to start the trip in march 2017
