Leaving vehicle in Brazil and fly back home (Sonstiges)

Thought it might be time to ask this question again.

Has anyone driven into Brazil, stored their vehicle and left by plane within the validity period of the tourist visa AND THEN returned by plane on a fresh visa and driven out of Brazil without problems.

ACTUAL case rather than speculation based on lack of paper TIP would be preferred.

Leaving vehicle in Brazil and fly back home

Thorsten Ritter ⌂ @, Kiel, Samstag, 13. September 2014, 12:58 (vor 3513 Tagen) @ IVECO Tony

Hi, Tony

as I´ve got my own car in Brasil, too, I´ve been busy asking the same questions.
(At the moment I´m back in Germany and I returned back to Brasil using the car on
three different occasions)
All I know is that there is a visa for foreigners coming into the country as ever.
However, at the moment there are no restrictions on foreign cars having a foreign license plate. This is said due to the Soccer competition this year and also concerning the Olympics in 2016.
I met a couple of different persons who didn´t get any permit for their cars at the border. Though, it should work leaving the country.
In case of worries use Iguazu where travellers cross borders in various ways to see the falls from everywhere.
Good Luck
Thorsten

Thanks for that.
Are you saying you have left Brazil and then reentered several months later on a new 90 day visa, then left by plane and then come back again.

Did you have any problems flying back on a one-way ticket - from the airline or immigration? At least in Argentina I had the TIP to prove intent to travel out of Argentina, but no such documentation for brazil.

I guess apart from that aspect, you haven't really tested the theory yet because you haven't taken the vehicle out of brazil yet.

I have a free park in Brasilia and it is really central to the next phase of our journey so it would be good if I could. Would save a long trip back down to uruguy and USD50 a month storage fee for several months.
