That merely talks about tourist visas (of which several variations have been available for a long time) and says nothing at all about whether those paying for these visas are guaranteed to get a corresponding time for their vehicle.

This of course was exactly the problem with the previous rumours that aduana would automatically give an extension of the TVIP to match the 180 day visa. There was no official policy and of course some people managed it and some did not - and all it takes is one or two who did not get the extension to show that there was no official policy in place.

What we need is an official CUSTOMS declaration that they will unconditionally match any visa with a corresponding TVIP validity. Without that, it seems a bit premature to be advertising that people can leave their vehicle in Ecuador for 1 year.

Maybe there is more official documentation to cover the TVIP in which case please publish it here so we can all be reassured that spending several hundred dollars on Visas (ie US$1000 for a couple) is guaranteed to allow their vehicle to remain without fear of draconianb penalties being imposed.

It would be even more reassuring to read specific regulations that allow people to leave the country while leaving their vehicle behind because that also is generally specifically prohibited under most countries regulations.
