Is your brother likely to take the vehicle into Peru? Reason for asking is that peru has specific rules about the owner needing to be present when the vehicle crosses into Peru at least through one southern border post that enforces it.

In several countries, sale of a foreign vehicle between foreigners is either illegal or quite difficult to arrange legally.

Many people are driving vehicles around using a poder as a sham form of purchase and some do for several years without hassles.

In your case your brother will have genuine originals of all vehicle paperwork, your original TIP issued when you entered Bolivia, and preferably copies of your passport main page and entry stamps plus a properly drawn up and executed poder. If you also had a photo of both of you and even some form of paperwork verifying family connections you should have no problems.

However, if your brother has to arrange shipment back to Europe from Montevideo, there might be problems so you should check with your shipping agent or ferry company to make sure he can complete the procedure at each end of the shipping
