Yes our Combi can make that! The question is if you want to go so fast ;)
Our combi came from mexico and we are now in El Calafate without problems. And drove over 4500m in Bolivia!
It is an amazing friend to travel with!

The practical questions:
We will only reach Valparaiso at the end of March. So maybe to late...
Papers are something to arrange with Notaria. We did it already, if you are interested I'll send you the details.
The repairs: the van will drive, cause we tread it will! There are always some minor things to do, but at this moment noting motortechnical. On the way up I would advise you to pass our super mechanic in Lima. He will help you cheap and well for everything that is good for a longer life if you want that. Only thing we see in the necessary in the near future is 2 new tires and the 'rodamientes'
