I think you will save a lot of hassles if you set up to use the bottles with valve on top and POL female thread outlet. Then you have a chance of getting them refilled in nearly all countries from Canada to Argentina. Brazil is totally different and I have made a refill hose to connect the brazil bottle to the POL bottle. Could also direct connect the Brazil bottle but their standard 13kg bottle is quite fat and won't fit in my gas locker. I wait until both 20 pound POL bottles are nearly empty, swap my empty brazil bottle for a full one and transfer the liquid into the two POL bottles. Then store the empty brazil bottle under the dinette table until next time.

Even in Argentina and Chile we found it difficult to find gas factories who would fill non-standard bottles even when they had the same fittings so ended up buying an Argentinian standard bottle and using that to refill the other two.
Bit of a pain and leg-room under the dinette is a bit tight but at least our all-propane rig carries on - including the propane generator powering the airconditioner. (intrepid explorers we are not. Been there and done that and now it is comfort time)
